Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT)
CAT is concerned with the search for globally sustainable, whole and ecologically sound technologies and ways of life. Within this search the role of CAT is to explore and demonstrate a wide range of alternatives, communicating to other people the options for them to achieve positive change in their own lives.
CAT has a holistic approach to its work, integrating ideas and practice relating to land use, shelter, energy conservation and use, diet and health, waste management and recycling. Through its resident community and work organisation, CAT is also committed to the implementation of co-operative principles and best achievable environmental practices.

World Wildlife Fund - UK(WWF-UK) and WWF Cymru
As part of the international WWF network, WWF-UK addresses global threats to people and nature such as climate change, the peril to endangered species and habitats, and the unsustainable consumption of the world's natural resources. This is achieved by influencing how governments, businesses and people think, learn and act in relation to the world, and by working with local communities to improve their livelihoods and the environment upon which everyone depends.
WWF uses its practical experience, knowledge and credibility to create long-term solutions for the planet's environment.
WWF Cymru is the Welsh office of WWF-UK. The team focuses on policy work and lobbying, and aims to ensure that the environment and sustainability are high on the political and media agendas.

Cynnal Cymru–Sustain Wales
Cynnal Cymru–Sustain Wales plays a key role in communicating and promoting sustainable development across Wales.
Operating at the boundary between government, business, and civil society, Cynnal Cymru is uniquely positioned to assimilate the views of each group and generate communication between them that will result in positive action for sustainable development.

Carbon Trust
The Carbon Trust was set up by Government in 2001 as an independent company. Their mission is to accelerate the move to a low carbon economy by working with organisations to reduce carbon emissions and develop commercial low carbon technologies.
The business consists of five complementary areas: Insights, Solutions, Innovations, Enterprises and Investments. The Carbon Trust believes that all of these are critical in the creation of a low carbon economy.

Mantell Gwynedd
Mantell Gwynedd is a County Voluntary Council. Its aim is to support and encourage voluntary activities in a variety of ways. They represent the voluntary sector on Strategic Partnerships and facilitate joint-working between different organisations and agencies in order to offer a better services.
Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA)
WCVA is the voice of the voluntary sector in Wales. They represent and campaign for voluntary organisations, volunteers and communities.
WCVA offers support to community organisations, pursue policy work on community regeneration and are involved in Communities First, the National Assembly initiative aimed at regenerating Wales' most deprived communities through a long-term committed programme.

Welsh College of Horticulture/Coleg Garddwriaeth Cymru
The Welsh College of Horticulture is the premier land-based College in Wales. They work hard to develop and maintain close relationships with industry allowing students to access further resources appropriate to current technology and business developments.
The college also offers guidance and support to those who may have an innovative idea and are considering starting a new business. For established businesses in any business sector, WCoH offers innovation-related workshops to encourage staff and owners of SMEs to consider innovation as a means to sustain and grow their businesses.
Business in the Community (BITC)
Business in the Community mobilises business for good. They are one of The Prince's Charities and inspire, engage, support and challenge companies on responsible business, working through four areas: Community, Environment, Marketplace and Workplace.
Business in the Community challenges companies to continually improve the impact they have on society and the environment through their responsible business programme, sometimes referred to as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Research and Market Intelligence (CBRMi)
Established in 2005, CBRMi has built a reputation for providing clients with timely, insightful and innovative research solutions.
For example, their work has been used to inform local policy decision making and they continue to be influential in informing education and skills development in Science, Technology, and Engineering & Manufacturing (STEM) across North West Wales.
CBRMi is currently conducting a detailed research exercise to gather intelligence on the Environmental Goods & Services Sector across North West Wales, data from which will inform intervention strategy and sector support needs.
The Wales Institute for Sustainable Education (WISE)
WISE provides a location in which to explore practical solutions to vital changes to the way we live, work, travel and do business.
The WISE building itself embodies everything that will be taught in it, offering a living example of sustainable technologies and lifestyles. Advice is available from their team of experts on the transition to sustainability.
They offer advice and assistance to Architects, Town Planners, Energy Consultants, Waste Managers and other professionals working in fields affected by sustainability, as well as guidance to businesses on the transition to sustainability.
The Association for Environment Conscious Building (AECB)
Founded in 1989, the objective of the AECB is to facilitate environmentally responsible practices within building.
Specifically the AECB aims to:-
- promote the use of products and materials which are safe, healthy and sustainable
- encourage members projects that respect, protect and enhance the environment
- make available comprehensive information and guidance about products, methods and projects
- support the interests and endeavours of members in achieving these aims

TYF offers sustainable and ecologically sound tourism and education programmes in Wales and further afield. They are passionate about low carbon emissions and their Eco Hotel, the first organic hotel in Wales, is working towards being entirely carbon-neutral.

Sustainable Gwynedd Gynaladwy (SGG)
Sustainable Gwynedd Gynaladwy is a voluntary organisation committed to raising awareness of sustainable development in the area. They aim to develop the skills and confidence of community groups and individuals to take action towards initiating community projects and sustainable lifestyles.
SGG believe that working in partnership with the voluntary sector, individuals and statutory bodies is the most effective way of ensuring co-operation in protecting and developing strong communities.

SAC (Sustainable Abersoch Cynaladwy)
The group is made up of volunteers and was set up to try and tackle local environmental issues. One recent scheme has been The Beach User Clean Up Scheme. Marine litter is a big environmental, economic and aesthetic problem. Not only is litter an eyesore, spoiling the beauty of the sea and coastal zone, but it also contaminates the beach, and kills many forms of marine life through suffocation, entanglement and starvation.
Coed Lleol - Wales Woodland Strategy
Coed Lleol aims to help more people enjoy and care for woodlands in North, South, East, West and Mid Wales.
RSPB
The RSPB speaks out for birds and wildlife, tackling the problems that threaten our environment.
They are the largest wildlife conservation organisation in Europe with over one million members.
The work of the RSPB is driven by the passionate belief that:
- birds and wildlife enrich people's lives
- the health of bird populations is indicative of the health of the planet, on which the future of the human race depends
- we all have a responsibility to protect wildlife

National Trust
The National Trust cares for heritage, property and green spaces 'For Ever, For Everyone'. As part of this they are working hard to reduce our environmental impact.
